WILMINGTON, Ohio — Mars High School graduate Ryan Kissinger, a sophomore on the Mount Union College men's soccer team, has been named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference.

A defender, Kissinger played in all 21 of the Purple Raiders' games last fall, starting 18 of them. He scored two goals and carries a 3.58 GPA as a geology major.

Mount Union finished the 2013 campaign 12-9 and placed third in the OAC.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Slippery Rock High School graduate and King University wrestler Kayla Brendlinger placed sixth at 130 pounds at the Women's College Wrestling Association Championships over the weekend.Brendlinger reached the semifinal round before settling for sixth. King University won the WCWA team title for the first time in school history.

ERIE — Butler graduate Paige Allen, a freshman on the Penn State Behrend women's indoor track and field team, broke two school records at an Ohio meet Saturday.Allen ran the 60-meters in 7.98 seconds — breaking her own school mark — and qualified for the ECAC meet this March in Boston. She broke the school's 200-meter record by running the event in 27 seconds flat.

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — Butler graduate and Grove City College freshman center Luke Tincha scored 10 points in the Wolverines' 79-54 loss at Thomas More on Saturday.Seneca Valley graduate and GCC junior guard Christian Durbin had eight points and four rebounds for Grove City (8-9).

Slippery Rock University's Brittany Christiansen shattered her own school record in the weight throw with a toss of 16.56 meters Friday night at the Youngstown State University Invitational.SRU finished the meet with 19 PSAC qualifying marks and nine top-10 finishes. Butler graduate Ava Bonetti qualified in the shot put with a throw of 12.10 meters.The Rock men posted 21 PSAC qualifiers and 10 top-10 finishes. Moniteau graduate Victor Santoyo was fifth in the long jump while Seneca Valley graduate Hunter Williams was fifth in the 400 meters.
