Wayne O. Ruby
Wayne O. Ruby, 61, of Cranberry Township passed away Monday at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh after a long bout with cancer in the comfort and presence of his family.
Born Oct. 12, 1955, in Rochester, Pa., he was the son of the late George “Jim” and Theda M. Schmidley Ruby.
Wayne was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and a faithful follower of the Grateful Dead. He worked as a truck driver and a carpenter. Wayne will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Wayne leaves behind to cherish his memory his son Matthew and his wife, Wendy, and his two beloved granddaughters, Isabelle and Lyla of Peabody, Mass.; his sisters, Neva McClymonds of Cranberry Township and Sandy (Ron) Rust of Harmony; his brothers, John Ruby and Donald “Chuck” Ruby, both of Harmony; his sister-in-law, Blanche Pink Ruby of Butler; his son's mother, Grace Cotter of Massachusetts; his longtime friend, Eric P. Christiansen; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy; his brothers, Robert and Edward Ruby; a sister-in-law, Karen Ruby; and a brother-in-law, John P. McClymonds.
RUBY — Friends of Wayne O. Ruby, who died Monday, July 31, 2017, will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A celebration of Wayne's life will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.
