Kelly, Latta, 90+ House reps call for Capitol to reopen
Reps. Mike Kelly, R-16th, and 93 House colleagues wrote a letter to Sergeant at Arms William J. Walker asking for the U.S. Capitol to be reopened to the public.
"It's far past time to reopen the Capitol to the American people. Access to the People's House was never intended to be contingent on political whims, and the right for all Americans to petition their government is enshrined in the Constitution," Kelly said.
The letter follows a similar letter by Kelly asking Capitol Attending Physician Brian P. Monahan for updated COVID-19 guidelines. The Capitol has been closed since March 2020 because of COVID-19.
