New parking garage slated to open Nov. 4
Butler’s new Centre City garage on East Cunningham Street continues to come in under budget, said project manager Joe Saeler at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
Saeler told council members the project is about $50,000 “ahead of budget,” and is expected to reach “substantial completion” by Nov. 4.
Saeler said electrical and plumbing contractors expect to have their portions of the project complete by Nov. 11, and the facility’s gates are expected to be delivered and installed sometime around Nov. 18. Saeler said he expects work on minor aspects of the project to continue until the end of November.
The “substantial completion” date means that workers on the project would have the garage mostly finished and operational, and drivers would be able to begin using the facility at that point, Saeler said.
Saeler said he expects the fences surrounding the garage to be taken down sometime next week, when parking lines within the facility would also be sprayed.
