Barbara K. Hillard

Barbara K. Hillard, 80, formerly of St. Joe Road, Butler, passed away from Alzheimer's on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, in Melody Manor Personal Care Home in Kittanning.

She was born Dec. 14, 1940, in Lamartine, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Harry and Hazel Wilson.

She married Richard L. Hillard on Oct. 7, 1960, and he died Oct. 9, 2010.

She was an amazing homemaker, and enjoyed playing 500 bid, attending many public card parties. Barb was a talented and crafty person. Many people were recipients of her hand-stitched quilts, and generations of families will be hanging their personalized Christmas stockings she knitted on their mantels this season and for many years to come. She took pride in her quilts, especially baby quilts, entering them in the Farm Show, winning many ribbons.

She is survived by her son, Daniel L. Hillard (Mary); her brother, Bill Wilson (Janice); and several nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her granddogs, Maxwell Q. and Sally Ann Hillard, whom she dearly loved.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Painter.
