Turkeys donated to feed hungry
Butler Eagle mascot Scoop, above, helps circulation staff member Michele Napoletan deliver 50 turkeys donated on behalf of the Butler Eagle Thursday.
At right, Eagle circulation manager Sam Allison, rightt, and home delivery manager Joe Kreutzer help unload the turkeys that will be distributed to help feed the homeless and less fortunate throughout the county. The turkeys were delivered to Trinity Lutheran Church's large walk-in freezer, where they will be kept until they are requested by other churches or food banks.
Alice Lunn, circulation director for the Eagle, said the newspaper is continuing the practice of giving back to the community in as many ways as possible. “With so many employers and employees impacted by the virus, we know the food banks will be overrun with requests from people needing some help to feed their families,” Lunn said. “Plus, the nightly community dinners provided by the churches will be able to serve a nice Thanksgiving–style spread to their regulars from this donation. We certainly hope that it is of some help.”
