Middlesex builds new trails, facilities

New trails and parks facilities are coming to Middlesex Township Community Park in the near future.

Township manager Adam Hartwig said that construction began at the beginning of last week on a six-foot-wide paved asphalt trail loop.

The trail is being built through Holbein Construction of Sarver and will be fully ADA accessible. It circles around Middlesex Township Community Park, located behind the Middlesex municipal building at 133 Browns Hill Road.

“They paused work right now because it is too wet, but we are expecting they will start up the beginning of next week because we have off-and-on rain, and it is very weather-dependent,” Hartwig said. “They have the new rotation of the trail excavated and have it backfilled with stone. It shouldn't take them more than a week to pave.”

The township will conduct a ribbon-cutting on Nov. 20 in conjunction with its Turkey Trot event.
