BlueSox lose pair on road

Matt Hansen continued his hot streak at the plate, going 6-for-9 to raise his average to .349 on the season, but Butler dropped a pair of road games to West Virginia over the weekend.

Hansen was 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored in a 6-3 loss at West Virginia Sunday.

Seneca Valley graduate Colin Coward got the loss, giving up five runs on seven hits in five innings of work.

Mitchell Machi doubled and had two hits for the BlueSox.

On Saturday, Hansen was 3-for-5, but Butler fell behind 6-2 after four innings in a 7-5 loss.

David Marcus, who leads the Prospect League in batting with a .378 average, mashed his 14th double of the season and also drove in a pair of runs. Marcus also leads the league with five home runs.

Hansen is third in the Prospect League in batting.

Nick Rabat also had a three-hit day for the BlueSox.

Josh LaPiana picked up the loss, lasting just 3 2/3 innings.

Butler (18-18 overall, 5-4 in the second half) is off today before traveling to Jamestown Tuesday.
