Robert W. Peters
Robert W. Peters, 80, of Cabot, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, while surrounded by his family at his home.
Bob was born May 22, 1941, in Cullowhee, N.C., and was a son of the late Rozella (Ewing) and Ernest Peters.
Bob was a 1959 graduate of Knoch High School.
After graduation, he went to work at Moonlight Mushroom in Winfield Township and Worthington for 20 years. When the mine closed, Bob went to work in the HVAC maintenance department at Allegheny Valley Hospital for many years, retiring in 2009.
After retirement, Bob enjoyed working at his sawmill cutting boards, firewood and working in his garden.
He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver.
Bob was a member of Armstrong Lodge 239 F&AM in Freeport, Shriners Caravan 14 in Butler, Syria Shriners of Pittsburgh, and sang with the chanters of Syria Shrine. He was also a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was a social member of the Saxonburg Fireman's Club.
He loved traveling with his wife, and spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eileen (Janura) Peters; and their children, Rob and Cheryl Peters of Cabot, Lisa and Tom Kocher of Corsica, and Shawn Peters and Jodi Wray of Saxonburg.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeremy and Kerrin Peters, Carrie Peters and fiancé, Gavin Cummings, Jesse Peters, John Peters, Kelly and Devin Stormer, Renee Simpson and Alec Wray; and two great-grandchildren, Lila Stormer and Trevor Stormer.
Bob is also survived by his sister, Diane, and Ron Langford of Ligonier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Bill and Larry Peters.
PETERS — Family and friends of Robert W. Peters, who died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, at Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver, with the Rev. Seth McClymonds Jr. officiating.
Burial will be private for the immediate family at Butler County Memorial Park.
