Edna Nicholas

Edna L. Jolly Laidlaw Nicholas, 85, of Cabot, formerly of Saxonburg, passed away on Oct. 28, 2021, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born on Aug. 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Jolly and Luceile Terwilliger Jolly Blauser.

Edna was a graduate of the Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School, and later retired from Penn United Technologies in Cabot after 20-plus years.

She was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church, as well as the Red Hat Society, Meals on Wheels and the Silver Sneakers.

Edna's hobbies included bowling, baking and canning. Most importantly, she had a great love for her family, and was very passionate about caring for the elderly and the sick.

Edna is survived by her son, Larry (Sandy) Laidlaw of Cabot; her daughter, Sharon (Roland) Hall of Cabot; her daughter-in-law, Dixie Laidlaw of Sarver; her daughters, Michelle (Rob) Moser of Cabot and Jody (Aaron) Timko of Cabot; her stepdaughter, Brenda (Bruce) Kramer of Zelienople; her stepson, Dwayne (Melony) Nicholas of Asoka, Tenn.; her brother, Robert (Debbie) Jolly of McCloud, Okla.; and her stepsister, Dolly Blauser of Butler.

She is also survived by her nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Orville L. Nicholas, who passed in 2021, and Gerald W. Laidlaw.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Jo Laidlaw; her son, Jeffrey Lynne Laidlaw; her granddaughter, Ashley Kay Hall; her grandson, Parker William Timko; and her great-grandson, Jameson Timothy Quinn.

The family would like to thank the Concordia Hospice Care nurses for the care they provided to Edna.

NICHOLAS — Per her wishes, there will be no visitation taking place for Edna L. Jolly Laidlaw Nicholas, who died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021.

All arrangements will be handled by H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home in Eau Claire.

A memorial service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cabot United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jonathan Fehl officiating.

The family asks that any donations be made to the Cabot United Methodist Church, 707 Winfield Road, Cabot, PA 16023, or Cabot United Methodist Church Food Bank.
