Charles Matthews, 74, of Cabot passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, at home.

He was born March 5, 1947, in Pittsburgh, and was the son of the late Paul Matthews and Ruth (Smith) Parker.

He was retired from Armstrong Cement, where he was an electrician.

Charles enjoyed working on cars, crosswords, spending time with his dog, and he liked to tinker on heavy equipment.

He is survived by his wife, Janie (Bish) Matthews of Cabot; his daughter, Cheryl (Rob) Peters of Cabot; his daughter, Becky (Bill) Janoski of Sarver; his daughter, Charlotte (Tim) Waltman of Fenelton; his son, Charles (Madonna) Mathews of Fredericksburg, Va.; his daughter, Dena (Ron) Tomcik of Oakdale, Pa; his daughter, Ruby (Dave) Cyanovich of Aliquippa; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his brothers, Paul, Sam, David, Ralph and Bob; and his sisters, Rachel, Dorothy and Judy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Matthews; his mother, Ruth Parker; and his stepfather, Ralph Parker Sr.

MATTHEWS — Friends of Charles Matthews, who died Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Seth McClymonds officiating.
