Mary M. Ferguson

Mary M. Ferguson, 92, of Renfrew passed away Monday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Oct. 29, 1924, in Chicora, she was a daughter of the late William and Marcella Stein Young.

She was previously employed by Montgomery Ward department store as a clerk for 10 years. She later was a homemaker.

Mary was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Christian Mothers. She volunteered at the Butler County Junior Conservation School as a cook for many years.

Mary enjoyed camping yearly with her four grandchildren in Warren County.

Surviving are her daughter, Donna Leary of Renfrew; her son, James (Sandra) Ferguson of Butler; four grandchildren, Matthew (Elizabeth) Ferguson of Meridian, J. Brian (Shannon) Leary of Butler, Jason Ferguson of Chicora and Jeremy (Holly) Leary of Broomfield, Colo.; six great-grandchildren, Trevor and Tyler Leary of Butler, Zachary and Maddelyn Ferguson of Meridian, and Owen and Reagan Leary of Broomfield, Colo.; five sisters, Pauline Graham, Eleanor (John) Clouse, Virginia Koreith, Cleo Tritch and Jane (Richard) Beltrami; three brothers, John (Rita) Young, Norman (Madge) Young and Regis (Alice) Young; her brother-in-law, Lawrence J. Curtis of Chicora; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert “Fergie” Ferguson, who died April 7, 1997; five brothers, Bill, Charles, Paul, Richard and Robert Young; and two sisters, Marcella “Betty” Fallecker and Eileen Curtis.

FERGUSON — Friends of Mary M. Ferguson, who died Monday, March 20, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. The Rev.
