Virginia Korieth

Virginia C. Korieth, 89, of Butler, passed away March 26, 2021. She couldn’t wait for this day to run into the arms of Jesus.

Born July 12, 1931, in Chicora, she was a daughter of the late William and Marcella Young and one of 16 children.

She was previously employed by Spaide Shirt Factory of Butler and later on became a domestic worker for many homes. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Guild.

Virginia became a resident of New Haven Assisted Living in October 2019. They not only showered her with great care, they opened their hearts to her.

Surviving is her daughter, Kimberly Scribner; and son-in-law, Herb; two granddaughters, Stephanie Kish and Angela (Adrian) Cardenas; seven great-grandchildren, Trai, Cole, Liliana, Dessie, Mikayla Kish, Isaiah Scribner, and Ariah Cardenas of Butler.

Also surviving are three sisters, Eleanor Clouse, Cleo Tritch and Jane (Richard) Beltrami; three brothers, John (Rita) Young, Norman (Madge) Young and Regis (Alice) Young; sister-in-law, Gloria Young, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hilderbrand, Albert McElhaney and Bert Korieth; five brothers, Bill, Chuck, Paul, Richard and Bob Young; and four sisters, Betty Fallecker, Eileen Curtis, Pauline Graham and Mary Ferguson.

Virginia’s most precious times were interacting with her family and friends, especially with all her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Korieth — There will be no public visitation for Virginia Korieth, who passed away March 26, 2021.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Conrad (Fidelis) Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler.

Entombment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.

Arrangements are entrusted to Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
