Jeep 'friends' group gives money to 29 organizations

Friends of the Bantam Jeep Association recently gave 29 Butler County groups financial gifts ranging from $500 to $2,000.

This is the fifth year that the association, which operates the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival, has given back to the community, according to a news release from the organization.

The association has given $121,200 in gifts to a variety of nonprofit groups. In addition, $118,679 has been given to organizations that help execute the festival for a total of $239,879.

The benefitting organizations include American Legion Riders Lyndora Post 778, Associated Artists of Butler County, Butler AM Rotary Charities, Butler Breast Cancer and Women's Cancer Support Group, Butler County Family YMCA, Butler County Soccer Association, Butler County Symphony Association, Butler Downtown Association, Butler Little Theatre, Center Township Athletic Association, Center Township Friends of Scouting, CISM Team of Butler County, Community Action Network for Drugfree Lifestyle Empowerment, Ellen O'Brien Gaiser Center, Evans City Lions Club, Evans City Public Library, Fishing For Memories, Friends of Preston Park Foundation, Grapevine Center, Harrisville Volunteer Fire Company, Hero's Angels, Jean B. Purvis Community Health Center, Northwest Pennsylvania Steam Engine and Old Equipment Association, Prospect-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department, St. Vincent de Paul Society, The Arc of Butler County, The Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation: The Kids' Weekend Backpack Program, Wreaths Across America Butler and the Zelienople Historical Society.
