Gale L. Smith

Gale L. Smith, 68, of Chicora passed away on Tuesday at his residence.

He was born Sept. 22, 1950, in Butler, and was the son of the late Robert G. Smith and the late Eleanor C. (McGarvey) Smith.

Gale worked as a shipping operator at Sonneborn LLC in Petrolia for 41 years, retiring in 2012.

He attended Community Alliance Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jean M. Smith, whom he married on April 1, 1988; two brothers, Michael Smith and his wife, Darla, of East Brady, and R. Neil Smith of Bruin; two sisters, Linda Sheakley and her husband, Rodney, of Petrolia, and Pam Emery and her husband, John, of Bruin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

SMITH — Friends of Gale L. Smith, who died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
