JACKSON TWP — An athletic facility has a new name under an agreement approved Monday night by the Seneca Valley School Board.

Myers Law Group will pay the district $50,000 over a 10-year period for the naming rights to the district’s soccer/lacrosse stadium on the secondary campus. The stadium will now be known as Myers Law Group Stadium.

Myers Law Group is a legal firm based in Marshall Township, Allegheny County. Jeff Myers told the board Monday that he lives in the district and has three sons who play soccer.

He commended the board and the district’s administrators for investing in first-rate athletic facilities.

“We thought this was such a great opportunity. When we saw the investment the school district made in the surfaces and the fields, it just brought to mind an opportunity,” he said.

Several school board members thanked Myers for wanting to partner with the district.

“This is what we look for — someone like you who comes to us and is willing to be a partner with us. This is an amazing gift you are giving, and we are welcome to have you in the district,” school board President Eric DiTullio said.

Earlier this year, the board also approved an extension of the naming rights agreement with NexTier Bank for NexTier Stadium, where football games and other events are held. The bank agreed to pay $100,000 over a 10-year period.
