A Venango County woman accused of helping dump the body of Kayla Dunlap last year was charged Monday with three misdemeanors.

Grace A. O'Day, 23, of Scrubgrass Township faces charges of criminal conspiracy — abuse of a corpse, criminal conspiracy — tampering with physical evidence and false reports to law enforcement.

Police allege that O'Day helped Shaun M. Long, 49, of Scrubgrass Township dump the body of Kayla Dunlap, 28, in Oakland Township on Sept. 16, 2017.

Long is being held without bail in Venango County Prison and faces multiple charges, including felony drug delivery resulting in death.

O'Day, in an interview with police on Oct. 3, allegedly said that she was at Long's house when Dunlap overdosed on fentanyl, according to the criminal complaint. O'Day said that she administered a dose of Narcan, an opioid overdose antidote, but it was not effective and Long allegedly refused to call 911 for help.

She allegedly admitted to helping Long dump Dunlap's body near Oneida Valley reservoir and burning a sheet that the body had been wrapped in, the complaint said.

Her statements in October conflicted with statements made to police on Sept. 18, investigators said.

A summons for O'Day to appear in district court on April 25 was issued Monday.
