I should be ashamed of myself.

Last week was a tough one of the old Scoopster as I barely broke even with a 6-4 record.

When I miss, boy do I miss.

I will endeavor to do better this week.

On to the picks:

North Allegheny 46, Butler 11 — The Golden Tornado history against the Tigers is not in their favor.

While Butler is making strides, NA is just too good.

Central Catholic 43, Seneca Valley 16 — The Raiders are talented across the board, but they have yet to face a team quite like the Vikings.

South Fayette 40, Knoch 16 — Just when you think you can stick a fork in Knoch, they come back with a big win and make you rethink that assessment.

The Knights are in for a challenge this week, but you can never count them completely out.

Mars 23, Highlands 19 — When the Planets' running game is firing, like it did last week, they are hard to stop.

Highlands had a hard time stopping Knoch's running game last week.

CWNC 55, New Brighton 13 — The Trojans are another team that is hard to figure out.

They get blown out in odd weeks and roll in even weeks.

For CWNC, it's Week 4. Good news for the Trojans.

Freeport 25, Shady Side Academy 3 — The Yellowjackets' defense shut out Aliquippa in the first half last week and Shady Side Academy's offense has struggled.

Freeport will do enough on offense to win this one comfortably.

Karns City 39, Punxsutawney 11 — The Gremlins made a trip to Punxsutawney last season and dumped the Chucks 62-6.

This one won't be as bad, but the Gremlins will be in complete control.

Moniteau 46, Keystone 7 — Keystone has eight rushing yards ... in four games.

The Warriors, though, aren't worried about numbers. They are just worried about getting better.

They'll get better this week.

Union/A-C Valley 28, St. Marys 21 — The merger between the Union and A-C Valley football programs has seen plenty of upside already this season as it has been a virtually seamless transition.

Coach Dave Louder deserves lots of credit for making that happen. It's not easy melding two programs into one.

Sharon 32, Slippery Rock 18 — The Rockets are improving and finding their identity.

They could give Sharon some fits this week.

Grove City 46, Oil City 20 — Kameron Patterson is putting up some sick numbers this season at QB for Grove City.

He should improve on them mightily against a porous Oil City defense.

OLSH 36, Summit Academy 24 — The Knights broke their 21-game losing streak last week and will be shooting to begin a winning streak.

OLSH, though, has too many threats at the skill positions.

Scoop, 26-12 overall, will be the Week 17 starter at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns.
