Eugenia 'Jeanie' Zavacky King

Eugenia “Jeanie” Zavacky King, 92, died peacefully Thursday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1921, in Lyndora. She was one of 10 children of John Zavacky and Anna Sluk.

She had a long and happy marriage to Bartolome King, with whom she had one daughter, Manuela King.

She loved people and found great joy in doing things for others. She deeply loved her family and remained very close to her sisters throughout her life. She took great pride in being a cousin of Andy Warhol, and could frequently be found showing pictures to friends and people she met. She loved to laugh and will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, caring woman who gave without question to others.

Jeanie was a member of the St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, and was an active volunteer for many years at the Symphony Half Note Shop.

She is survived by her daughter, Manuela King of Mill Valley, Calif., her granddaughter, Kendra Bradanini of Los Angeles; her sisters, Christina Soley of Butler and Georgia Hartman of New Castle, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

KING — The friends of Eugenia “Jeanie” Zavacky King, who died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Interment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Butler.Her generosity and kind soul will live on in the hearts of her family.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
