Flora N. Sapar
Flora N. Sapar, 84, of Butler passed away Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
Born Sept. 15, 1930, in L'Aquila, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Giuseppe DeFrancisis and Cesira DiClemente DeFrancisis.
Flora had worked as the dietary supervisor at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 20 years.
She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, the St. John's Ladies Guild, where she was a past president, and the Silver Sneakers. She was a volunteer at the Benbrook Medical Center and for more than 20 years she baked wedding cakes.
Surviving are her three daughters, Patricia (James) Gale of Sterling, Va.; Nina Sapar of Boulder, Colo., and Sandi Steratore of Pittsburgh; her seven grandchildren, Ryan (Emily) Morse, Chelsey (Anthony) Bashorun, Natalie Steratore, Gene Steratore, Andrew Steratore, Nadine Vitullo, and Santino May; her six great-grandchildren, Kyra Mayers, Gavin Morse, Yinka Bashorun, Talan Morse, Silas Morse, and Remi Bashorun; her two sisters, Edith Dominsky and Joanna Conley, both of Butler; her brother, Mario DeFrancisis of Butler; her dear friend, Beverly Zavacky of Butler, and her numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Sapar, who died in 1980, and her brother, Angelo DeFrancisis.
Sapar — The friends of Flora N. Sapar, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at theGeibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Parastas services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora, with the Rev. Leo Schlosser, pastor, officiating.
