Robert A. Hancheck Sr.
Robert A. Hancheck Sr., 84, of Butler, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021, at his home.
He was born May 15, 1937, in Butler, the son of the late Verdie Hancheck.
Robert was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
He retired from Armco after 41 years, where he held various positions.
He was a member of many, if not all, of the clubs in Butler County.
He was well-known and loved by all who met him. Once you had met him, you could never forget him. He was told once, “Bob, you have many friends, and it's because you have to be a friend to have a friend.” His heart was the same color as his beer, GOLD!
Surviving are his three children, one daughter, Carol (Dan) Markle of Cabot, and two sons, Michael (Laurie) Hancheck and Paul (Pam) Hancheck, all of Butler; 10 grandchildren, one grandson and nine granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren, six great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Carol Ann Powell Hancheck, whom he married Feb. 27, 1960, and who passed away on Aug. 3, 2018; and a son, Robert Hancheck Jr.
HANCHECK — Friends of Robert A. Hancheck Sr., who died Sunday, July 25, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.
A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Deacon Mitch Natali officiating.
Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
