David W. Towsey

David W. Towsey

David W. Towsey, 80, formerly of Zelienople, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, while under the care of Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler, where he resided.

Born Feb. 8, 1941, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Robert Towsey and Mary Emma Freed Towsey.

Dave worked for Halstead Industries for over 25 years, until his retirement.

He served as a volunteer firefighter in Zelienople for over 20 years.

He was a faithful member of Park United Presbyterian Church in Zelienople.

He was also a former member of the Harmony Moose Lodge 957, and the Zelienople-Harmony Sportsmen's Club.

In his free time, Dave enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Randy (Tammy) Towsey of Ellwood City, Todd (Cindy) Towsey of Slippery Rock and Troy (Kerri) Towsey of Punta Gorda, Fla.; his grandchildren, Nicole Towsey, Casey Yoho and Brandon Towsey; his great-grandchildren, Sean and Monroe; and his brother, Robert Towsey of Erie.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Teets Towsey, who died on Sept. 14, 2005; his second wife, Mary Joanne Kress Towsey, who died on July 18, 2016; and his great-grandson, Jay Hersho.

TOWSEY — Friends of David W. Towsey, who died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
