Renovated press box honors Schiebel
SAXONBURG — The renovated press box at Knoch Athletic Stadium press box in honor of the late Regis Schiebel will be dedicated at the 7 p.m. Friday football game with Freeport.
Schiebel worked at Knoch High School, first as a math teacher and later as assistant principal, for 36 years, retiring in 1993.
However, he is most well-known as being “The Voice of Knoch,” announcing football games in the Knoch Athletic Stadium's press box until 2013. His service as the announcer for Knoch football spanned 56 years, affecting thousands of Knoch athletes, band members, cheerleaders, their families and the community.
These individuals raised nearly $32,000 to fund the renovation of the press box and installation of Wi-Fi in the Knoch Athletic Stadium to assist with the livestreaming of events.
