Alan S. Yost, 76, of Portersville, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at his home.

Alan was born May 30, 1945, in Pittsburgh, and was the son of the late Albert and Geraldine (Crawford) Yost.

He served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve.He worked as an electronics technician for the U.S. Army and U.S. Government for 26 years.Alan was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was a keyboard player in a number of local bands over the years. He worked for the Paul Giordano exercise TV show. He composed the music and worked the camera for the show.Alan was an animal lover and took care of many animals. He was an amateur weather man, working with Skywarn for the National Weather Service.Alan is survived by his wife of 21 years, Carol L. Yost; his stepdaughter, Tammy Raszkowski of Freeport; his stepson, Shawn (Debra) Bell of Hyde Park; his stepson-in-law, Robert Raszkowski of Freeport; his stepgrandchildren, Tasha Harkabusic, Tiffany Raszkowski, Blaise Hilderbrand and Cheyenne Bell; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Logan Paden and Colton Harkabusic.Alan is also survived by his brother, Paul Yost; and two nephews, Josh and Eric Yost.YOST — Family and friends of Alan S. Yost, who died Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport.The funeral service will be held following the visitation at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Erskine of Curry Run Church, Shelocta, Pa., officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orphans of the Storm, 11878 Pennsylvania 85, Kittanning, PA 16201.To send a condolence, visit www.redmondfuneralhomeinc.com.
