A Cabot woman entered a guilty plea in Butler County Court Tuesday to endangering three children after overdosing on heroin.

Erin A. Lazor, 34, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person before President Judge Thomas Doerr.

The plea agreement calls for a sentence of 36 months of county probation, fines and costs. The agreement also states that she must continue with parenting classes and recommendations from a drug and alcohol assessment.

She is scheduled for sentencing April 4.

Lazor was initially charged with three misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of children after an incident March 21, 2017, in the East Butler Volunteer Fire Company parking lot on Grant Avenue.

The reckless endangerment charge to which she pleaded was later added.

State police responded and found a medical crew treating Lazor. Nearby, her three children, ages 9, 8 and 6, were in a vehicle with a couple who stopped to help.

Police said the oldest child told troopers that his mother drove him and his siblings to the park near the fire station and, while playing, he saw a friend of his mother's drive up in a Jeep, according to court documents.

Lazor then got into the Jeep for several minutes before returning to her van. When her children joined her in the van to check on her and to warm up from the cold, the boy said his mother “started to act different and sleepy,” a police affidavit said. She subsequently lost consciousness.

One of Lazor's children flagged down a motorist, saying that their mother needed help. The couple in the passing car stopped and called 911.

Lazor was eventually taken to Butler Memorial Hospital, where police spoke to her. Police said she admitted using two stamp bags of heroin while caring for her children at the park.

She claimed it was her “first time using in almost four years,” a police affidavit said.
