BUTLER TWP — A couple of shoppers returned to their vehicles Tuesday to find an unwelcome surprise.

Township police were called Tuesday night around 7:30 p.m. for a light pole that had fallen on two vehicles at Moraine Pointe Plaza.

A Toyota van had a broken window and a Lexus SUV had dents. The light fixture detached from its concrete base and fell between the vehicles where they were parked near Harbor Freight Tools.

Nobody was injured.

Police investigated but said there was no evidence of a vehicle hitting the pole and causing it to fall.
