W. John McFadden
W. John McFadden, 84, of County Line Road, Harrisville, died at 8:55 a.m. Monday in the Grove City Medical Center.
He was born on July 23, 1928, in Pine Township, Mercer County, to Charles W. McFadden and Alma L. (Stillwagon) McFadden.
He retired in 1985 from Brown Boiler of Franklin. Previously he was employed by Van Port Stone of Edenburg, Pa.
He was a Protestant. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family.
He was married to Ramona M. (Thompson) McFadden on Sept. 28, 1948, and she survives at their home. Also surviving are his two sons, W.M. “Marty” McFadden of Harrisville and Michael John McFadden and his wife, Laura, of Harrisville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one sister, Genevieve Hubenthal of Harrisville. He and his wife raised 23 foster children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers.
