Donald Carney Sr.
Donald E. Carney Sr., 76, of Butler passed away Saturday afternoon at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler.
Born July 3, 1939, in Natrona Heights, he was a son of the late Clyde and Marie Brubaker Carney.
Don was employed for more than 30 years as a truck driver for Three Rivers Cold Storage.
He was a social member of VFW Post 519 in Grove City, and he was an avid fisherman and golfer.
He is survived by three sons, Don Carney Jr. and his wife, Sue, of Leechburg, John Carney of West Tarentum and Robert Carney of Butler; three daughters, Elizabeth “Libby” Richardson and her husband, Dan, of Finleyville, Pa., Mary Semple of Cranberry Township and Jackie Brown and her husband, Tom, of Butler; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Lois Conroy, of Natrona Heights and Eleanor Bruckner of Austin, Texas, also survive.
Don was preceded in death by four brothers; three sisters; and one brother-in-law, Charles M. “Buddy” Conroy Jr., who passed away March 21.
CARNEY — Friends of Donald E. Carney Sr., who died Saturday, March 26, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A blessing service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
