Harold S. Kramer
Harold S. Kramer, 95, of Fenelton passed away peacefully on Sunday. He left this world in the same place that he entered it, the Kramer family farm homestead.
Born April 11, 1922, he was the son of Edward and Mary (Shuler) Kramer.
As a successful life-long dairy farmer, Harold was always eager to try the latest farming innovations. His true passion was farming, which blended well with his strong work ethic.
Harold bought the family farm in 1955 and implemented the transition from farming with real horsepower to mechanical horsepower, of the four wheeled variety. He also moved from milking by hand to using machines. He farmed more than 150 acres throughout his lifetime. He was easily recognized on his David Brown diesel, Zetor, his prized four-wheel drive Ford and many other tractors. Even as he aged, he continued to be the family’s resource for agricultural and mechanical issues,
Harold was an active member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Parish in Coylesville.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory three daughters, Linda Kramer, Marjory (Don) Reed and Donna (Larry) Montgomery; three sons, Thomas, Michael (Raye) and Charles; 17 beloved grandchildren, Jeff, Joe, Jenny and Justin Montgomery; Mandy, Steve, Priscilla, Janelle and Ray Reed; Mike, Leslie, Heidi and Tim Kramer; Dave, Melinda, Ary and Tina Kramer; and 12 precious great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Mildred Reott.
He was preceded in death by one sister, six brothers and one daughter-in-law.
