Janet Balog Shedio

Janet Balog Shedio, 75, of Butler, passed away Tuesday.

She was born Nov. 7, 1941, in Butler, to the late Michael A. Balog and Rose Dernoski Balog.

She retired after 43 years of service in 2002 from Nationwide Insurance Co., in Butler, as an executive secretary.

Janet was a member of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Moose Club.

Janet enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was an avid sports fan.

Janet is survived by her brother, Michael Balog, and her sister-in-law, Marjorie, of Renfrew; six nieces and nephews, Douglas Balog and his wife, Susan, of Chapel Hill, N.C., Rebecca Puz and her husband, Matthew, of Darien, Ill., Stephen Balog and his wife, Susan, of Cranberry Township, John Shedio and his wife, Susan, of Renfrew, Patricia Edwards of Lakeland, Fla., and Jacque Chambers and her husband, Mike, of Winter Haven, Fla.; and a number of great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Milan “Michael” Shedio, whom she married July 18, 1964, and who died June 23, 2011; also one great-nephew, Zachary Balog.

SHEDIO — Friends of Janet Balog Shedio, who died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, will be received at 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. Following visitation there will be a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman from St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial will take place at Butler County Memorial Park.
