EVANS CITY — A borough woman accused of stabbing her husband after she refused to have sex with him waived the charges to court.

Dyna Marie Hodges, 33, of Zelienople, waived charges of assault, harassment and reckless endangerment at her hearing Tuesday morning.

According to court documents, Hodges called police just after New Year's Eve to report that she had stabbed her husband in the arm and that he required medical attention, documents state.

Upon arrival, officers reportedly found her husband on their residence porch, bleeding from a wound in his arm.

Police applied a tourniquet to the wound while waiting for the ambulance to arrive and brought Hodges out of the house to interview her about what happened.

Hodges told officers that she and her husband had been drinking when she refused to have sex with him that night, and he became upset, documents state. He allegedly grabbed Hodges and began leading her upstairs, when she reportedly grabbed a knife from the kitchen counter and stabbed him in the arm, she said.

He reportedly confirmed this story when asked by officers at the scene, documents state.

Hodges posted bond the next day. A formal arraignment is scheduled for March 5.

No charges have been filed against Hodges' husband in connection with the incident, according to officials with the Zelienople Police Department.
