Restaurants to begin self-certification
Pennsylvania Department of Economic Development Secretary Dennis Davin said the self-certification process, which begins Sept. 21, allows restaurants to increase indoor occupancy to 50%.
Restaurants that self-certify will appear in the Open & Certified Pennsylvania searchable online database of certified restaurants.
Consumers will be able to access this database to find certified businesses. The self-certification documents and information about the program can be found online starting Sept. 21.
Restaurants wishing to increase to 50 percent indoor capacity on Sept. 21 must complete the online self-certification process by Oct. 5.
Social distancing, masking and other mitigation measures must be employed to protect workers and patrons. Starting Sept. 21, restaurants that have alcohol sales will end alcohol sales at 10 p.m.
