The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture provided this report on the March 23 Eighty Four Livestock Auction.

CATTLE 232 — (Compared with last week's sale, slaughter cows sold .50 to 1.00 higher.)

Steers — Choice 1-3, 1150-1310 lbs., 78.50-82.; select 1-2, few, 1065-1150 lbs., 75.50-77.50.

Holstein steers — Choice 2-3, two, 1380 and 1480 lbs., 63. and 65.

Cows — Breakers — 75-80 percent lean, 51.-52.; one, high dressing, 59.50; low dressing, 49.50-50.50. Boners — 80-85 percent lean, 46.-48.; high dressing, 48.50-50.; one, low dressing, 45.50. Lean — 85-90 percent lean, 42.-44.; high dressing, 44.50-45.50; low dressing, 39.-41.

Bulls — Yield grade 1, few, 1105-1985 lbs., 55.50-60.; yield grade 2, two, 970 and 1780 lbs., 48. and 51.50.

Feeder cattle — Steers — Medium and large 2, 230-490 lbs., 88.-100.; 555-847 lbs., 66.-79.; medium and large 3, 622-660 lbs., 52.-53.
