The Butler County Area Baseball League will begin its double-elimination tournament Thursday.

East Butler has a play-in game at Center Township at 6 p.m. Tuesday. That winner plays at Butler Township at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Other first-round games Thursday, all at 6 p.m., are Karns City at Freeport, Cranberry at Pine-Richland and Saxonburg at Kiski. Second-round games will be played Saturday.

Butler Township won the regular season title with a 13-3 record. Freeport was 11-5, Pine-Richand 10-6, Kiski 8-5, Cranberry 6-7, Saxonburg 6-8-1 Center Township 3-10-1 and East Butler 2-9.

The league will debut a new traveling trophy this year, given to the winner of the tournament.
