A man was taken by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital after his vehicle struck a utility pole at 716 Center Ave. in Butler at 9:47 p.m. Monday, according to emergency services. A firefighter said the driver told police he was traveling east on Center Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle. The crash caused heavy front end damage. The utility pole was snapped. No other passengers were in the vehicle. No other information was immediately available.
