HORSE TRADING DAYS SCHEDULE

ZELIENOPLE - Four days of crafts, food and entertainment are on tap for Wednesday through Saturday during Horse Trading Days.

A hay ride shuttle will run from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Shuttle stops will be at Rite Aid, the Community Park and Gazebo, and North Gate Plaza.

Here are highlights of scheduled events:

WEDNESDAY

At North Gate Plaza:

7 p.m. - The Little Miss and Little Mr. Pageant

THURSDAY

At the Zelienople Community Park and Gazebo:

10 a.m. to 6 p.m. - Petting zoo

3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. - Richard Hozie on the bagpipes

5:30 to 8:30 p.m. - Bits and Pieces, a blue grass band

At St. Paul's Lutheran Church:

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Lunch

4 to 7 p.m. - Dinner.

At the Zelienople Historical Society:

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Trash 'N Treasures sale at the Buhl House

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Artists show and sale at the Buhl House.

At North Gate Plaza:

3 to 8 p.m. - Pony rides and train rides

3 to 7:30 p.m. - Dave Davis, country rock disc jockey

4 to 10 p.m. - Climbing wall

6 to 8 p.m. - Participants can test their skills in the Zelienople Extreme Factor. Fourteen adults can enter the event to compete in three stunts. There is a $15 entry fee per person. Cash prizes will be awarded.

8 to 11 p.m. - The Eldorado Band, which performs in the tri-state region

At Rite Aid on Main Street:

7 to 10 p.m. - Performances by the band Eugene and the Night Crawlers

At Beecher's:

3, 5 and 7 p.m. - Gelato eating contest, $5 entry fee. Prize money awarded.

In downtown Harmony:

7:30 p.m. - Music by Dixie Doc at the Harmony Inn

FRIDAY

At the Zelienople Community Park and Gazebo:

10a.m. to 6 p.m. - Petting zoo

11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. - Harmonic sounds of the Stars Outta Sink Beauty Shop Quartet

2 to 4 p.m. - Pat Blackburn performing as a one-woman band

5 to 7 p.m. - Acoustic sounds of Three Blind Mice

On Main Street in Zelienople:

11 a.m. 2 p.m. - St. Paul's Lutheran Church lunch

At the Zelienople Historical Society:

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Trash 'N Treasures Sale at the Buhl House

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Artists show and sale at the Buhl House.

At North Gate Plaza:

3 to 8 p.m. - Pony rides and train rides

4 to 10 p.m. - Climbing wall

6 to 11 p.m. - Custom and classic car cruise. The first 175 cars will receive a Horse Trading Days license plate.

6:30 p.m. - Banana split eating contest

7 p.m. - Pie eating contest

8:30 to 11 p.m. - Johnny Angel and the Halos concert on the lawn at the borough maintenance area below North Gate Plaza. Reserved seats are a $5 donation, lawn seating is free.

At Beecher's:

3, 5 and 7 p.m. - Gelato eating contest with a $5 entry fee. Prize money will be awarded.

SATURDAY

At the Zelienople Community Park and Gazebo

10 a.m. to 6 p.m. - Petting zoo

11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Warn the Neighbors group will rock the park and gazebo

1 to 2 p.m. - Rollo, with music for everyone

2:30 to 5 p.m. - Gospel sounds of Amos and Cookie Mazzant

5:30 to 8 p.m. - Ray Ryan's New Orleans Jazz Band

On Main Street in Zelienople:

8:30 a.m. - 5K Run and Walk, and 1-mile Fun Run to benefit Paradise Equine Adoption and Youth Ministry

At Zelienople Historical Society:

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Artist sale and show at the Buhl House

At Beecher's:

2 p.m. - Gelato eating contest

At North Gate Plaza

1:30 to 4:30 p.m. - The Amaretta Band, a country band

2 to 8 p.m. - Truck show, a $10 entry fee is required. Open to semis, dump trucks, monster trucks and pickup trucks.

3 to 8 p.m. - Pony rides and train rides

5:30 to 7 p.m. - Acoustic sounds of Three Blind Mice

7:30 to 10 p.m. - Country hoedown and square dancing

8:30 to 11 p.m. - The Corbin/Hanner Band, lawn seats are free and reserved seating is $5. To reserve seats, call Joella at 724-321-4265.

In downtown Harmony:

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Art sale and show, and anything that rolls race

At the Passavant Retirement Community:

An evening concert with the big band sounds of Chick and the Cavaliers.

At Rite Aid on Main Street:

10 a.m. - Frog jumping contest. Children must bring their own frogs

10:30 a.m. - Bubble gum blowing contest

11 a.m. - Dog show, open to any dog and their owner. There is a $5 entry fee, and prizes and awards will be presented in 12 categories.

12:30 p.m. - Baby races, open to infants, and 1- to 2-year-olds

1 p.m. - Stick horse races and best decorated stick horse contest for 3- to 12-year-olds

1:30 to 3 p.m. - Pedal Power Tractor Pull for 3- to 12-year-olds
