Several people were taken to Pittsburgh hospitals after a serious accident Friday afternoon near Harmony on Route 68 in Jackson Township. The accident occurred at 12:18 p.m. when a sedan driven by an elderly woman traveling east crossed the center line and hit a truck driving west near Edmond Street. Both drivers, as well as another elderly passenger in the car, were taken to hospitals. Township police officer Chris McGee on Friday couldn't provide more information pending notification of relatives of the victims. Zelienople and Harmony fire departments responded to the accident.
