John E. Sarver
John E. Sarver, 68, of Butler Township passed away Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born on Oct. 24, 1946, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late John V. and Ruth Brown Sarver.
John was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Butler.
He was a 1964 graduate of Evans City High School where he played football for the Evans City Rams, in addition to baseball, track and basketball. He coached football and taught English, driver's education and speech classes at Knoch High School until his retirement in 2000.
John will be remembered as a dedicated father who treasured the time he spent with his family and friends.
John leaves behind to cherish his memory, his four beloved children, John Sarver of Monroeville, Carrie (Robert) Knize of Ellwood City, Erika (Brian) DeAngelis of Boalsburg and Erin Sarver of Butler Township; his three grandchildren, Marissa Sarver, Finley Sarver and Sierra Albert; his brother, William V. Sarver of Butler; and his two sisters, Virginia Murphy of Florida and Carol (Howard) Kennedy of Evans City.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandy Magness Sarver, who passed away in 1981; his second wife, Susan Raffaele Sarver, who passed away in 1998; and his sister, Nancy Sarver.

Sarver, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, from 3 p.m. until the time of a funeral ceremony at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew, with the Rev.
