Summit Twp woman charged with cutting, biting man

SUMMIT TWP — A township woman is in jail on assault charges after police say she cut a man with a knife and bit him during a dispute in the front yard of her home on Bish Road.

Tori M. Harbin, 22, has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment after the early morning altercation on Wednesday that began as an argument and escalated quickly.

Troopers say they were dispatched to Harbin's home at 108 Bish Road at about 2:30 a.m., after a witness said they saw Harbin hitting a man, identified as Marco A. Mijares, in her front yard. The witness told police that Harbin then went inside the home, where she retrieved multiple kitchen knives and began throwing them at Mijares.

Police said Harbin hit the man with one of the thrown knives, causing a laceration to the left side of his back. Mijares then tried to grab the remaining knives from Harbin, police said; she bit him on the left calf and he smacked her in an attempt to get her off, according to court documents.

Harbin is in Butler County Prison on $10,000 monetary bond, according to court documents.
