Seneca Valley School Board unanimously approved several items at Monday night’s meeting:

- Paying $2.6 million in bills from the General Fund

- Paying $111,431.87 in bills from the Construction Fund

- Second readings of policies 105 (curriculum development), 105.2 (instruction exemption), 107 (adoption of planned instruction), 212 (reporting student progress), 246 (student wellness) and 806 (child abuse)

- The first reading of Policy 805 (emergency evacuation of schools)

- Adopting Policy 806.1 (Megan’s Law)

- High school club status for Computer Science Club and Philosophy Club, to be directed by Diane Koegler and Rebekah Grinnen, respectively

- A student placement renewal agreement with Butler Area School District for the Center Avenue Community School ES, Life Skills and Autistic Support and Multi-Disabilities programs, effective July 1 through June 30, 2020

- The district’s applications of a $700 Target Field Trip Grant for fourth-grade; a $3,000 Annie’s Grants for Gardens grant for the district’s garden project; and a $2,500 American Heart Association Teaching Gardens Network Grant Program grant for the district’s garden project

- Eckles Construction as the owner’s representative for the new maintenance building, pending solicitor’s review of the final agreement

- Purchasing a 2020 F-350 truck for the maintenance department

- Awarding building commission services for the new elementary and middle school to HF Lenz Co.

- A resolution regarding delinquent real estate tax sales

- The resignation of cafeteria worker Niki Wells, effective Oct. 25

- Appointing Caitlin Whitney as a replacement secretary and Jamie Marcotte as a replacement paraprofessional

- Leave for Rebecca Rockey, Leah Kalan, Amanda Weir, Christine Roe, LaVarr Stephens-Howling, Max Gandy, Troy Watson and Debra Neely

- The district will be having a public hearing for the new elementary and middle school at 6 p.m. Nov. 4 before the school board meeting.

- The board met in executive session for matters of personnel before the meeting Monday night.
