Robert McMurray Sr.

Robert Wilson McMurray Sr., 87, of Portersville, peacefully passed away Saturday afternoon, Jan. 8, 2022, at The Grove in New Castle, following an illness.

Born April 19, 1934, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late James and Clara Duman McMurray.

In 1979, he retired from the former Dravo Corporation, where he was an electrician.

He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and will be remembered for making amazing Christmas lights displays.

He is survived by his loving wife, Katherine Marie Oresick McMurray, whom he married Sept. 26, 1970; his children, Ronald C (Krista) Adams of Ohio, Derek E (Linda) Adams of Harlansburg, Donna (Joe) Smith of Washington, Pa., and Deborah (William) McCarthy of California; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Claire (Bill) Kress of Washington, Pa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Daryl McMurray and Robert W. McMurray Jr.; three brothers; and two sisters.

McMurray — Visitation for Robert Wilson McMurray Sr., who died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 387 Main St., Prospect.

The funeral service will follow the visitation at 4 p.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Chris Roberts, pastor at Portersville Bible Church, officiating.

Private internment will be in the Portersville Bible Church Cemetery.
