Richard Fleeger
Richard O. Fleeger, 93, of Saxonburg, was called home to be with our Lord God on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022. He passed peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.
He was born Nov. 15, 1928, and was the son of the late Oscar Fleeger and Grace (Renick) Fleeger.
He was the youngest of nine children.
He was proud to have served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He retired from the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad after 35 years, where he was a clerk. He, like his mother, had a green thumb.
He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and many flower beds. When in his 80s, he had to stop his gardening, but he continued to grow beautiful flowers in his home. He loved cats and adopted a handful of strays.
He leaves behind his son, Terry (Karen) Fleeger; his daughter, Shayron (Bobby) Burton; and four stepchildren, Nancy Weber, Danny Faulx, Jeffery Rhodes and Susan Holibaugh.
He had 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Betty (Cottrill) Fleeger and Audrey (Rhodes) Fleeger; and seven brothers and two sisters.
FLEEGER — Friends of Richard O. Fleeger, who died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and from 6 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Friday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.
Burial will be private.
