Jean Wikert
Jean “Murdock” Wikert, 92, of Butler passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
She was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Winchester, Mass., and was the daughter of the late Malcolm W. Murdock and the late Mary (Kniffen) Murdock.
Jean was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, was a former member of Altar Guild and was a communion assistant.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, and Jean was an avid reader, especially National Geographic Magazine. Jean loved watching “Jeopardy,” “Wheel of Fortune” and “Discovery ID.”
She worked at H.P. Starr Lumber as a sales assistant for 21 years, retiring in 1988.
She is survived by one son, Jon Brunelle of Connecticut; one daughter, Diana (Dennis) Fetterhoff of Butler; one daughter- in-law, Geralyn Huxley Brunelle of Pittsburgh; one granddaughter, Melissa (David) Fischer of Sterling, Va.; three grandsons, Scott (Rebeccah) Fetterhoff of Jacksonville, Fla., Robert (Mary) Brunelle of New York City, N.Y., and Alexander Brunelle of Los Angeles, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Carrigan Fischer and Greyson Fischer; and two nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wikert, who passed away in 1982; one son, Kevin Brunelle, who passed away in December 1991; and one sister, Carolyn Murdock Tornberg, who passed away in 2004.
WIKERT — There will be no public visitation or funeral services for Jean “Murdock” Wikert, who died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021.
Private burial will take place in Glade Run Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.
