Meridian Road bridge repaired, open again

The one-lane bridge was damaged Monday.

The bridge in Renfrew where Meridian Road crosses Connoquenessing Creek reopened Thursday morning.

Mike Mattis, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation maintenance manager for Butler County, said the bridge reopened at 10:49 a.m.

Work was handled by Green Acres Contracting Company, which is based in Scottdale, according to the company’s website.

The project was handled through PennDOT’s emergency call-out process, Mattis said. For that reason, he wouldn’t be able to provide a cost for the work until Green Acres bills them, which would be after a formal inspection is done to verify the work.
