Occupants flee vehicle crash
Firefighters assisted at the scene of a vehicle crash on Oneida Valley Road on Saturday afternoon and a search for occupants of the vehicle following it.
According to reports, emergency crews were called around 1:54 p.m. to a crash in the area of 2463 Oneida Valley Road, Washington Township.
As crews from North Washington and West Sunbury fire departments arrived on scene, EMTs were already there and working, according to North Washington Fire Chief Bruce Confer.
“One patient was being treated by Karns City Regional Ambulance,” Confer said. “Two other occupants had taken off into the woods.”
The injured patient's condition was not immediately available.
Confer said the vehicle was traveling south, crossed over into the opposing lane and off the road. Confer said the vehicle first entered a brush patch before hitting two trees, the latter being head-on. Confer also noted the first tree took out a utility pole with it.
“Pennsylvania State Police and our members did a search for occupants with no success,” Confer said.
State police continue to investigate the incident and did not have any updates Sunday.
