Richard L. “Dick” Harvey, 91, of Sarver, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2021, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born in Sarver on May 22, 1929, he was the son of Russell Harvey and Ellen Kuhn Harvey.

Dick was a graduate of Winfield High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. A lifelong farmer, he took great pride in local agriculture and working the family farm alongside his wife. For many years, he provided customers with quality beef, pork, hay, straw and grain. He retired from T.W. Phillips Gas & Oil Company in 1987 after 30 years with the company. He was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. He enjoyed nothing more than being outdoors working the land on one of his beloved John Deere tractors.Dick was inducted into the Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame in 2011 for voting consecutively in every November election for 50 years.Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Ella Mae (Schoentag) Harvey; his daughter, Linda Harvey (Tom) Burkley; twin grandsons, Andrew Burkley and Thomas Burkley; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dale Harvey and Melvin Harvey; and his infant twin, Robert.Harvey — Friends of Richard L. “Dick” Harvey, who died Saturday, April 10, 2021, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robin Swinsburg, officiating.Interment will follow in Westminster Presbyterian Church Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Westminster U.P.
