Bruce Gordon Stokes

Bruce Gordon Stokes of New Wilmington, Pa. passed away on Thursday in Farrell, Pa. at the age of 70.

Bruce was born May 21, 1948, in Butler, and was a son of the late James G. Stokes and the late Helen (Davis) Stokes. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Clydene (Crispen) Stokes.

Bruce was a graduate of Butler High School Class of 1966, and Slippery Rock College Class of 1970, with a B.S. in mathematics.

He was a pioneer in the field of computerization of production and manufacturing at Westinghouse, Carrier, Mobil, Allied Signal and Honeywell.

Survivors include his wife, Clydene at home; his son, Sheldon, and his wife, Hallie, of Grantham N.H.; two sisters, Betty (Jan Hirsch) Mansfield of New Braunfels, Texas, and Ginger (Phil) Angus of Carnegie, Pa.; his brother-in-law, Clyde (Diana) Crispen of Butler; and his sister-in-law, Lori (Joe) Huff of Slippery Rock.

He also is survived by his loved nieces and nephews; and very dear friends and neighbors.

Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, James E. Stokes; and his sister-in-law, Louise (Sedok) Stokes.

STOKES — Visitation for Bruce Gordon Stokes, who died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Jim Lewis officiating.Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery, Worth Township, Butler County.
