Kent D. Bowen, 86, of Butler, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022.

He was born March 14, 1935, in Steuben-ville, Ohio, and was the son of the late Floyd “Doc” and Margaret “Peg” Bowen.

Bowen, 86, of Butler, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022.He was born March 14, 1935, in Steuben-ville, Ohio, and was the son of the late Floyd “Doc” and Margaret “Peg” Bowen.He was raised in Weirton, W.Va., and graduated from Weir High School in 1953.After attending West Virginia University and Bethany College, he joined the U.S. Navy and received his wings as a naval aviator.He graduated from Pitt in 1963, and received his Pennsylvania certified public accountant license in 1965, while working at the Pittsburgh office of the international firm of Touche, Ross, Bailey, and Smart.From 1978 to 1985, he was the treasurer of the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team.In 1986, he joined the Fuellgraf Electric Company of Butler, as the corporate treasurer.In 1992, Kent opened his own tax and accounting firm in Butler, while working as an adjunct professor at Butler County Community College in the business division, and as a news reporter for the Butler Radio stations.He is survived by his loving wife, Jean; and his children, Brent, Cindy and Keith Bowen; his granddaughter, Erin; and his stepchildren, Janet Stromberg, Bob O'Grady, David O'Grady and Mary Ann Rieger.He was loved and will be forever missed.BOWEN — Family and friends of Kent D. Bowen, who died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022, will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way, Butler.Burial will be held privately.All arrangements through the SPENCER D.
