Marion G. Craig

Marion G. Craig, 99, of Cabot, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, at Concordia Lutheran. She previously resided in Wilkinsburg and Swissvale.

She was born in Winter-burn, Pa., and was a daughter of the late George and Margaret DeLong.

Marion retired from the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, where she had been employed until her retirement in 1992, following 25 years of dedicated service.

She truly loved working with preschool children at the School for the Deaf, where she developed many friendships with her co-workers.

Marion was a very kind and gentle soul, who never had an unkind word for anyone. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

Marion is survived by her two children, Barbara J. Wiggins and her husband, Tom, of Swisshelm Park, and Derek F. Craig and his wife, Linda, of Butler.

In addition, Marion leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Tom (Beth) Wiggins, John (Laurie) Wiggins, Jim Wiggins, Joe (Heidy) Wiggins, David (Robin) Wiggins, Michael (Beth) Craig, Lauren (Brad) Zandier and Randall Craig; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robinson W. Craig; an infant daughter, Suzanne; and her beloved sisters, Betty Bodenheimer and Peggy Wagner.

CRAIG — A memorial service will be held at a later date for Marion G. Craig, who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Robert P. Karish Funeral Home, Braddock Hills.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, 300 E. Swissvale Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15218.
