Charles L. Watson
Charles L. “Charlie” Watson, 82, of Evans City, passed away at home on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022.
Born Dec. 20, 1939, in Forward Township, he was the son of the late John Watson and Ruth Schilling Watson.
In his youth, Charlie was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evans City.
From the age of 4, he loved going to the family camp in Tidioute, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his younger years, he raced horses with the Watson family.
He had a great love of reading and especially enjoyed American and Native American history. He was a member of the Evans City Historical Society.
Charlie loved working with his hands. He will be remembered as a master storyteller on topics both humorous and true. Above all, he was a man who was devoted to and loved his family. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Charlie leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Mark (Cathy) Stancec of Colorado, Timothy (Sonya) Stancec of Beaver, and Matthew (Amy) Watson of Pittsburgh; his grandchildren, Timothy Stancec, Hope Stancec and Jared Berger; his great-granddaughter, Isabel Stancec; his siblings, Carol (Lloyd) Green, Jane (Heine) Raupp, Joy (Richard) Nalevanko, Deborah (Jim) Merrison, John (Terri) Watson, Andrew (Tami) Watson and James (Teddie) Watson; and his numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Ludwig.
WATSON — Friends of Charles L. “Charlie” Watson, who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 771 Mercer Road, Butler, with Pastor John Barkley officiating.
Charles will be laid to rest at the Evans City Cemetery.
